New Basement Waterproofing

Basement Waterproofing Systems

It is becoming common practice to design a basement into new houses and commercial buildings or to extent houses with a new basement in the garden with the garden reinstated over the basement. Architects and Engineers do not normally want to accept liability for the waterproofing aspect of a new build basement and waterproofing material manufacturers will not accept any liability for design even though they will provide drawings.
Maclennan-LSE design and install new build basement waterproofing systems which comply with the New British Standard BS8102 2009. Basements are one of the most critical areas of construction and conversions. Failures in the waterproofing system can be disastrous and expensive to remedy. Waterproofing has to be carried out by specialist professionals to comply with BS8102 and to ensure a trouble free contract. Waterproofing design should be carried out by qualified experienced contractors and not manufacturers. Maclennan-LSE design and install waterproofing using the best and most suitable system available for each project. You cannot afford mediocre quality when dealing with waterproofing. You want experienced professionals to handle the job. You want the best.

New basement waterproofing failures are normally down to poor design and installation by non specialist contractors. Maclennan-LSE basement waterproofing design and installation is the best way to avoid liability and leaks. Maclennan-LSE have been experts in designing, installing and guaranteeing systems for over 30 years. The Maclennan-LSE design department work directly from drawings in auto cad or PDF and our trained and experienced waterproofing technicians will then install the system to our design.

Maclennan-LSE accepts full design liability for every installation.

The system chosen for basement waterproofing will depend on the construction of the basement and the situation. If the basement is reinforced concrete and in a low water table the system is likely to be either an external, with drainage, or a cavity drain membrane. If the basement is masonry in a high water table then the waterproofing would probably be internal cavity drainage as well as external protection.

The whole system will be serviceable and repairable to comply with BS8102 and give complete peace of mind. When it comes to basement waterproofing, you can't take risks. You need to have experts doing the job for you. They take the risk out of waterproofing
